Working with our Australian partners Wanderwg Holidays we are offering a very special holiday for anyone interested in the textiles, crafts and folk traditions of Central Europe. 

 Hungarian Textiles Tour

30th May - 7th June 2016

Hungary has an amazing rich textile tradition. This tour combines visits to museums, galleries and skanzens with visits to the workshops of artists and craftsmen. You can even try your hands at creating textiles. 

Highlights include Budapest (Goldberger Textile Museum, Museum of Ethnography and artists' studios), Holloko, Papa Blue Printing workshop (you get to have  ago), Kalocsa embroideries, and Halasi lace.

Czech Crafts workshop

Learn how to paint a traditional Czech Easter Egg from a professional and/or how to create a tradition Czech puppet. This workshop is available to groups of 2-3 staying in Cesky Krumlov. Visits to other Czech craft workshops can be arranged,

Self-guided Tour

In the Footsteps of Alfons Mucha

This tour takes you to Prague, Brno and Moravia. The great Art Nouveau artist, Alfons Mucha, was born in a small town in South Moravia, where there is a museum which features some of his less known photography. His great series of paintings celebrating Czech nationhood - the Slav Epic is on display in Prague. There are other examples of Mucha's art and design in Prague and Brno.

In the Footsteps of Egon Schiele

Artist Egon Schiele lived and worked in Cesky Krumlov, the home town of his mother. His studies of the roofs of Cesky Krumlov are lovely. 

This tour takes you to Vienna, Tulln on the Danube and Cesky Krumlov as you follow in the footsteps of the controversial artist.
