Holidays in the Czech Republic

Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia

Mikulov is one of our favourite Czech towns. Sitting at the foot of the Palava hills surrounded by vineyards, Mikulov is a delightful old town. It makes a good base to explore South Moravia. The area is suited to walking and cycling (you can hire bikes in the town). There is a wine festival every autumn.

Sights to see in Mikulov

  • Mikulov Castle and Museum (includes museum of wine-making)
  • Jewish Synagogue and Cemetery
  • Walk Along the Palava Hills for rare wildflowers
  • Enjoy winetasting in one of the local cellars
  • Visit nearby Lednice & Valtice (UNESCO-listed)
  • Dolni Vestonice - prehistoric site
