Real Moravia - Textiles, Crafts and Customs
Moravia is the more agricultural part of the Czech Republic, where traditional crafts and customs have survived and are increasingly flourishing. This tour will be a mix of visits to museums and active crafts centres.
We will go back 27000 years and come up to the present. And at the same time this unique tour takes in some of the Czech Republic's most beautiful countryside. We will pass through the wooded Czech-Moravian highlands, to Silesia and then to wine-lands in South Moravia. The tour finishes in Brno.
Highlights include: UNESCO-listed Olomouc, Zlin's shoe museum, Wallachian Open Air Museum, several folk museums, the Dolni Vestonice prehistoric site, and workshops producing traditional tapestries, traditional blue-print fabric and carpets.
